- If tech mapping exists, this filter will be turned on automatically
- If generic colors exist in the product data, 'Color' filter will always be there
- To use different tag to filter per color, hide the color filter and create a new one with a different name, for example 'Colorways'
- Product tags are case sensitive
- Elastic does not support nested product tags
IMPORTANT
- Elastic doesn't handle instances where product tags within a single TagName are provided on both style level and color code level. This will break the filters.
- Using more than a thousand TagValues under one TagName will lead to performance issues.
Food For Thought And Use Cases
How is your brand utilizing product tags? Do you need some tags on the style level, and some tags on the color level? Do you need different tags in each catalog?
Tags on style level
All catalogs have similar products
Minimal variation within a style
Example: Products don't change between catalogs, not much variation within an item number
Tags on style and color level
Same products are similar between catalogs
Variations within a style
Example: Products are similar between catalogs, but have multiple colors available
Tags on style and catalog level
Similar products with the same item number
Differences between catalogs
Example: The same item can be new in one catalog and a carryover in another
Tags on style, color and catalog level
Different products inside a item number, variations between catalogs
Example: Variations between styles and catalogs
Mixture
Some tags are needed on the color level, some on the style level
Please note that these variations need to be consistent within one tag name, the same tag can't have values on the style level and color level
